INTRODUCTION
Extraordinary pursuit by De Renzy of 6 acres of Mac Coghlan land which went on from 1624-1633. The correspondence includes letters in the hand of several MacCoghlans, Dallaghans, numerous petitions in support of De Renzy by Surveyor General, Sir William Parsons and most important a lenghty letter written from Castle Ann renzy by the pre-eminent surveyor of the early 17th century, Thomas Raven. Lady Honora Mac Coghlan is mentioned a nmber of times but extra special is a reference in a De Renzy petition to the fact that Lady Honora Mac Coghlan, violently resisted the surveyors by ‘taking up their chain’ in 1631.
