About the West Offaly History project

The West Offaly History project is the brainchild and lifelong work of Kiaran Keenaghan, a local in Banagher town. Kiaran is an engineer by trade and an amateur historian in his spare time, and has been collecting stories,maps and manuscripts for 60 years. This project aims to digitally record and preserve his massive amount of historical material, and to make this material available to the public, the community, interested historians and educational facilities.
